In the Indian tablet market, Samsung has been the most popular brand for quite a while now, and it usually sells the highest number of tablets among all the brands. In the last quarter, however, Samsung took the game to the next level.
International Data Corporation (IDC) has just released an analysis of the tablet market in India in Q2 2024. According to the firm, Samsung shipped 901,000 tablets in the country in the last quarter, giving it the first position on the brand-wise shipment chart with a 48.7% market share. That’s three times the number of tablets (or 200% more tablets) it sold in Q2 2023, which was 300,000 units. Those are some very impressive numbers, not only in terms of market share but also year-over-year growth.
Apple is way behind Samsung in India's tablet market
In second, third, fourth, and fifth positions are Acer, Apple, Lenovo, and Xiaomi with 23.6%, 9.5%, 6,9%, 4.7%, and 6.6% market share respectively. Acer reported the highest growth, 1,548.4%. Apple grew only 12% from the same period last year.
