March 2025 security update for Samsung phones and tablets
According to Samsung's security bulletin webpage, the March 2025 patch fixes 58 security flaws discovered in the previous software that affect the core Android operating system. The update could soon be released to all eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
It includes 51 fixes from Google and seven fixes from Samsung. 11 of them are marked critical, while 40 are labeled as high priority. One of the security fixes released by Google in the March 2025 security patch was also released by Google in the previous month's security patch. Three fixes do not apply to Samsung devices but are included in the new patch.
Samsung fixed some flaws related to Bluetooth Auracast, Galaxy Watch Gallery, MAC address, and improper access control.
The South Korean firm is expected to release the stable One UI 7.0 update to compatible high-end phones and tablets sometime next month. Affordable and mid-range phones and tablets could get the update in May.
It is rumored that Samsung has canceled One UI 7.1 and One UI 7.1.1 updates due to the massive delay caused by One UI 7.0. The company will reportedly jump straight from One UI 7.0 to One UI 8.0 later this year.
