It's been known for a while now that the Samsung Max VPN will be discontinued on June 15, 2026. Officially called the Samsung Max VPN & Data Saver, the app had been around for a few years.

While users had hoped Samsung would reconsider its decision, that's not the case. As of today, the Samsung Max VPN service is history.

It first emerged back in April this year that Samsung would discontinue the service on June 15, 2026. The company had informed users through a notification in the app.

There were no further updates after the deadline was confirmed by the company. This meant that it hadn't changed its mind and that the app would be discontinued as per schedule. That's what has happened today.

Samsung Max VPN was available exclusively for Galaxy devices. It offered paid VPN plans as well for users who wanted to have more control over the servers and regions they wanted to connect through. There was a basic plan as well that offered very limited features and also had in-app ads.

Since this was a repackaged VPN service and it didn't quite become widely used, there may have been little benefit for Samsung to keep it around. So it made the logical decision of getting rid of it entirely.

It's not like there's any shortage of VPN services for Android devices. Most users already rely on their preferred service providers anyway, so the discontinuation of Samsung Max VPN isn't something that can't easily be replaced with an alternative.
