Samsung is developing a new power bank, which may be unveiled around the same time as the Galaxy S23 series, if not earlier. But to make matters a bit more confusing, the company appears to have filed documents to trademark two monikers.
Last month, Samsung filed paperwork to trademark the “Superfast Portable Power” name. Earlier this month, Samsung applied for another trademark, this time for a “Superfast Power Pack.”
The latter trademark was filed on December 1 and corresponds to the classification of “battery chargers for mobile devices; battery packs for mobile devices.”
Samsung searching for the best power bank moniker?
This could mean one of two things: either Samsung is developing two different power banks with similar “Superfast” characteristics, or the company has trademarked two monikers for the same device but intends to use only one of these brands. The recent trademark popped up at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Assuming that Samsung has two power banks in the works, at least one of them (shown in the featured image above) has had some of its specifications leaked before. It carries model number “EB-P3400,” it has a capacity of 10,000mAh, and it's capable of 25W fast charging. One color option — beige — also leaked in press renders and should reflect one of the Galaxy S23 Ultra's color options.
Whether the EB-P3400 will hit the market as the “Superfast Power Pack” or the “Superfast Portable Power” remains in question, but we'll keep you up to speed as soon as we find out more. Whatever the case may be, Samsung is obviously planning to release at least one new external power bank for Galaxy device users, so that's something to look forward to. And if you are looking for a power bank right now and you can't wait any longer, you're likely to find some good deals on existing Samsung accessories throughout the holiday shopping season.
