Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition today at Galaxy Unpacked 2. Although the event was arguably not as exciting as the usual Unpacked unveiling, it seems to signal an important change for future Samsung products. Namely, it appears that Samsung intends to use the Bespoke brand more extensively moving forward.
Starting with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition, Samsung says it's giving customers more opportunities to create their own designs for mobile devices. “Starting with” is the keyword here, as the company is telling us that it's “committed” to releasing more Bespoke Edition devices in the future.
Aside from making the Galaxy Z Flip 3 a lot more customizable with a total of 49 new color combinations, the company is also renaming its online Galaxy Watch design studio to “Bespoke Studio.” In the process, it hasn't added any new colors to the personalization tool for Galaxy Watches, but by renaming it, Samsung is obviously pushing the Bespoke brand more to the forefront.
Samsung wants to go all-in with Bespoke
The company hasn't revealed any concrete plans for future Bespoke Edition models but did say that it chose the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as the launchpad for this new design platform because it already is a fashion statement. But according to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition represents only the beginning, and we should be seeing the customization platform coming to more devices next year.
For now, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition is available only in seven countries, and Samsung has yet to reveal any launch plans for more markets.
