Samsung has a bunch of competent gaming monitors on offer, such as the Odyssey G5, Odyssey G7, and the Odyssey Neo G8. However, the one that the South Korean tech firm launched at IFA 2022—Odyssey Ark—is in a league of its own. Featuring a massive, 55-inch curved QLED screen with 4K resolution and Mini-LED technology, a 165Hz refresh rate, 60W 2.2.2-channel speakers, and the ability to be used in portrait or landscape mode, it is undoubtedly a gaming monster.
The Odyssey Ark went on sale in the US last month, and while you’d think that the monitor would take quite a while to reach other markets, especially in regions like India, that doesn’t seem to be the case. With its latest YouTube video, Samsung announced that it would launch the Odyssey Ark gaming monitor in India on October 7, 2022, at 12:00 PM.
The company has planned a Samsung Live event for the launch of this monitor and says that people can avail of benefits of up to ₹31,449 if they purchase it from the company’s website. However, there is no info regarding its price for the Indian market. For your reference, the monitor costs a whopping $3,499 in the US, which translates to about INR 285,366.
The Samsung Odyssey Ark features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and 1ms grey-to-grey response time. Its speakers support Dolby Atoms. The monitor has a Game Bar, too, to quickly see and adjust all the display settings. Samsung Gaming Hub gives access to several cloud-based gaming platforms and can even show four video inputs simultaneously.
