Samsung has launched the Odyssey Ark, its 55-inch flagship gaming monitor, in India at a price of INR 2,19,999 (around $2,698). The brand is offering an instant discount of INR 10,000 as well as a Samsung T7 2TB SSD worth INR 21,449 for free as an introductory offer, which brings down the effective price of the Odyssey Ark to INR 1,88,500 (around $2,312). The discount offers are valid from October 7th, 12 PM to October 9th, midnight.
The Odyssey Ark made its debut at the IFA 2022 event and was available to purchase in the US last month. It is currently Samsung’s largest and most expensive gaming monitor on sale. It has a 55-inch curved screen that uses a Mini-LED backlight and features QLED technology as well. The 14-bit VA QLED display features 4K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms grey-to-grey response time, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, HDR10+, and a matte finish. It has a typical brightness of up to 600 nits and a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits in HDR.
The monitor comes with Game Bar, a feature that we’ve seen in other Samsung gaming monitors and TVs. It allows you to quickly see and adjust all the display settings. The South Korean firm has also enabled the Odyssey Ark to show four video inputs simultaneously, allowing people to take full advantage of the big screen. There’s also Samsung Gaming Hub on board, which gives you access to several cloud-based gaming platforms, including Amazon Luna, Microsoft Xbox Cloud, and Nvidia GeForce Now.
The Samsung Odyssey Ark has 60W 2.2.2 channel speakers and support for Dolby Atmos. The monitor comes with a stand that allows you to go into what Samsung calls “Cockpit Mode,” which is just a fancy term for pivot adjustment, allowing you to use the monitor in portrait mode. Plus, it runs Tizen OS, which means you can use all the audio and video streaming apps like Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, and Prime Video. It has the Alexa voice assistant, too.
The monitor features Samsung Health, SmartThings, Wi-Fi 5, Miracast, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, Tap View, a USB Type-C port, an Ethernet port, and four HDMI 2.1 ports (with Auto Source Switch+ and HDMI CEC). It has a height-adjustable stand that can pivot, swivel, and tilt the monitor.
