Achieving an effortless 3D experience has almost always been a dream for display manufacturers and many gamers. However, bulky 3D headsets or glasses have often gotten in the way.
Samsung's new Odyssey 3D monitor may have brought us very close to that dream, and to mark the occasion, Samsung has prepared a few attractive deals for pre-order customers in the USA who want to join what could be a 3D revolution.
Those who pre-order the 27-inch Odyssey 3D (G90XF) 4K monitor in the USA get the following perks:
The JBL Quantum ONE headset is a fantastic choice for PC gamers who want better audio to go along with their 3D monitors. When purchased separately, this headset costs $299. It boasts features such as ANC, an echo-canceling microphone, DTS Headphone:X 2.0, and pro-grade 3D audio positioning, to name a few.
You can now pre-order the Samsung Odyssey 3D for $1,999 outright, $83.34 a month through Samsung Financing, or $500 every two weeks through four installments.
Samsung's new 27-inch Odyssey 3D monitor has a 4K resolution, a refresh rate of 165Hz, and a near-instant 1ms (GtG) response time. It also boasts G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium compatibility.
However, the most impressive feature is the glasses-free 3D experience this Odyssey monitor can deliver. The Odyssey 3D is equipped with cameras that track the user's eyes, and the monitor renders a different perspective for each eye to achieve a stereoscopic effect.
Although this Odyssey monitor can create a 3D effect without glasses, it does require a fairly powerful NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU (or higher) for the best experience. Samsung also recommends at least an Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 1700X CPU.
The Odyssey 3D can render 3D content in select video games, with support for more games expected to be added down the line. The monitor can also convert 2D videos to 3D ones, albeit there are some limitations regarding HDR and DRM content.
