Samsung now offers remote support through WhatsApp in this country

Samsung is expanding the use of the messaging app WhatsApp for customer support services in Spain to offer additional options for remote help. The company announced a new addition to its WhatsApp-based services in Spain. The new service allows customers to contact Samsung's Technical Support live and get assistance from trained professionals without having to make an appointment.

Samsung already uses WhatsApp for its customer services in Spain and allows customers to book appointments through the app for face-to-face service centers. Now, the latest addition takes that idea to the next level, especially in the post-pandemic and work-from-home era.

Samsung Electronics Iberia now offers customers a new way to contact support live through WhatsApp by scanning a QR code or accessing a direct link on Samsung's Help and Support page. Customers can talk to Samsung experts in real time from anywhere using WhatsApp — the idea being that customers might get their devices repaired more easily, particularly in cases when problems can be solved remotely without Samsung engineers requiring physical access to the device.

According to Samsung, this new WhatsApp addition to customer service reflects the company's “commitment to offering the best after-sales experience to its customers, through efficiency, quality, and innovation.” And it is true that Samsung devices offer some of the best customer support services around, especially compared to devices imported from China, which get barely any support in the rest of the world.

César Queipo, director of Customer Service at Samsung Electronics Iberia, said: “[…] our service does not only consists of offering technology and innovation but also of providing an impeccable after-sales experience.” The director added that Samsung “will continue to work to offer the best customer service experience.”

Customers in Spain can now access remote help through WhatsApp by visiting the dedicated support page here, and choosing one of the two available options to either scan the QR code or access the provided link to WhatsApp using a mobile device.
