Samsung unveiled its first OLED gaming monitor in August last year. The Odyssey OLED G8 was supposed to hit the market in Q4 2022 but that didn't happen. Samsung highlighted the product during CES 2023 as well but didn't provide any pricing or release details at that point in time.
It only recently confirmed that the monitor is now finally available for purchase. In case you missed that announcement, here's a reminder that the gaming monitor you've had your eye on since last year can now be purchased.
Odyssey OLED G8 goes on sale finally
You can buy the Odyssey OLED G8 from Samsung right away. It has a 34-inch curved display with an 1800R curvature. It can top an impressive 175Hz refresh rate with a super low response time of 0.1ms. The monitor utilizes Samsungs Quantom Dot technology to cover 99.3% of the DCI color gamut. The 3,440 x 1,440 pixel resolution is aided by AMD FreeSync Premium for exceptional gaming performance.
It's a much more capable product compared to your average gaming monitor. There's a heigh-adjustable stand and rear core lighting that can be synced with the in-game environment. The monitor features integrated 5W stereo speakers, USB-C, Micro HDMI, and Mini DP ports.
It can even double as a TV since Samsung's Tizen-powered Smart TV platform comes pre-loaded, providing you with access to streaming apps like Hulu, Netflix, and Samsung TV Plus.
