In a surprising twist, Samsung has opened up the Android 13 and One UI 5.0 beta program for the Galaxy A52. Samsung started beta testing One UI 5.0 a few weeks back with the Galaxy S22 series, and we had been expecting the company to first bring more flagship devices into the fold before letting owners of mid-range devices get in on the action, as has been the case for the last few years.
Galaxy A52 gets One UI 5.0 beta in India
Instead, Samsung has opened up the One UI 5.0 beta program for the Galaxy A52, with Indian users getting the chance to be the first ones to participate. The beta will probably be released in a few more markets in the coming weeks, although we can't be sure at this time since beta testing for new Android and One UI versions is often only widely done for flagship Galaxy devices.
It also remains to be seen whether this year's Galaxy A53 will get the beta or if Samsung will chose to directly bring the stable update to the newest model. The same goes for the two Galaxy A52 variants, the Galaxy A52s and the Galaxy A52 5G.
In any case, if you own a Galaxy A52 and reside in India, you should be able to join the One UI 5.0 beta program by opening the Samsung Members app, tapping the beta program banner, and hitting the enrol button. Once you've enrolled, the first beta update should be available for download within the next five to ten minutes from the phone's Settings » Software update menu.
Being a mid-range device, the Galaxy A52's Android 13 beta update is a little smaller than that of the Galaxy S22 series phones, but it should still have most of the meaty new features that Samsung is introducing with One UI 5.0. Our videos below dive deep into those features, so be sure to check them out to see what you're getting with the next major Android and One UI release.
