Samsung has announced that Galaxy smartphone users in India who have the Samsung Wallet feature can now make mobile payments through UPI via their RuPay credit cards. This feature is now available on all smartphones that feature the ability to make mobile payments.
Samsung Pay (Samsung Wallet) now supports UPI for linked RuPay credit cards in India
Samsung Pass users in India can now link their RuPay credit cards to Samsung Wallet UPI. It means they can make UPI payments through their RuPay credit card. MasterCard and VISA credit cards don't support UPI payments, and this is limited to RuPay credit cards only. This is a great option for those who want to make mobile payments but want their credit card to do so.
Samsung Pay was recently renamed to Samsung Wallet. In India, Samsung Wallet supports linking to bank accounts (via UPI interface) apart from credit cards and debit cards. Mobile payments through UPI (Unified Payments Interface) happen through QR codes and a 4-digit or 6-digit password. The accounts are linked via the user's registered mobile phone number.
Samsung Wallet also supports storing digital government-issued ID cards, such as driver's licenses and other documents in India. It also supports adding loyalty and membership cards, website login passwords, tickets, boarding passes, and more.
