Google has started rolling out the August 2026 Google Play System update to Samsung smartphones and tablets. It is 101MB ins size, and as usual, the brand hasn’t provided a changelog for it (via Kailash).

Currently, the update seems to be available on all eligible Galaxy phones and tablets running One UI 8.5 and older. In other words, it isn’t available for the Galaxy S26 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

You can get it by going to Settings > Security and privacy > Updates > Google Play System update. Generally, these updates offer bug fixes, performance improvements, security enhancements, and new features related to Google’s apps and services.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 are still running the Google Play System version dated May 1, 2026, at least in most parts of the world, whereas the Galaxy S26 series is getting a 12MB Google Play System update dated July 1, 2026.
