Samsung has launched two new premium projectors: Premiere 7 and Premiere 9. These are newer (2024) versions of existing projectors with the same names and were first unveiled at CES 2024.
Besides bright 4K visuals, Samsung's new projectors are made to offer immersive audio and other advanced smart features, like the ability to turn any surface into a touchscreen.
Premiere 7 (2024) and Premiere 9 (2024) launched with improved built-in audio
The 2024 versions of Premiere 7 and Premiere 9 projectors were announced by Samsung earlier today. Both new projectors now feature AI-powered 4K upscaling and Vision Booster technologies. They also feature multi-channel speakers with Dolby Atmos audio, so you don't have to necessarily connect them to an external soundbar or speakers for serviceable audio.
The Premiere 7 is an ultra-short-throw laser projector with 4K resolution, up to 120-inch video projection size, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, a maximum brightness of up to 2,500 ISO lumens, and HDR10+. It has a 2.2-channel speaker setup for 30W audio and built-in Dolby Atmos for spatial audio.
The Premiere 9 is a triple-laser ultra-short throw projector with 4K resolution and a projection size of up to 130 inches. It has up to 154% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and a maximum of 3,450 ISO lumens. This premium projector has a 2.2.2-channel 40W speaker setup with Dolby Atmos for spatial audio.
Both new projectors run Tizen OS 7.0 with Daily+, offering various music and video streaming apps, including Disney+, Max, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and YouTube TV. In addition, it also features Samsung TV Plus for free video streaming channels and on-demand content. Samsung Gaming Hub offers a central place to stream AAA games from the cloud through all popular cloud gaming service providers.
Using the SmartThings app, you can set up a Custom Ambient Mode to freely arrange photos, videos, and widgets on the screen. You can cast audio from your phone when these projectors aren't used to watch videos. Using Tap View, you can mirror your Galaxy phone's screen to the Premiere 7 and the Premiere 9. They can also act as smart speakers.
Both projectors have a warm white color, a premium fabric finish from Kvadrat (a Danish textile design firm), and rounded edges, easily blending into any interior.
