Quick Share doubles the daily file-sharing limit for links and QR codes

Samsung has released (via @theonecid) a new update (13.6.51.13) to the Quick Share app on Galaxy phones and tablets. It doubles the daily file-sharing limit from 5GB to 10GB when the files are shared via links or QR codes. This increased limit is also for files that are shared directly with contacts. This is great when sharing files with iPhone users or users on any other platform.

The new update also improves device identification for nearby devices by displaying two lines of the device name. It also displays the total file size in the incoming pop-up window when receiving files.

Samsung Quick Share Update August 2024

You can download the new version of the Quick Share app from the Galaxy Store. However, it isn't available to everyone just yet. Samsung might release the update for everyone over the next few days.

Quick Share is Samsung's wireless file-sharing system that works over Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct. Samsung then added support for file sharing through temporary links and QR codes. Earlier this year, Google merged Android's Nearby Share system into Samsung's Quick Share to bring consistency to the Android and ChromeOS ecosystems.

Nearby Share on all Android phones and tablets has been renamed to Quick Share, and it has also been revamped to Quick Share on Windows.
