Clarivate, an analytics company, has revealed the Top 100 Global Innovators 2024 list, ranking the world’s top hundred organizations in the field of research and innovation. According to it, Samsung Electronics is the number one research and innovation company in the world. While that’s a great achievement for the South Korean tech giant, it isn’t surprising that the brand ranks first as it has a wide portfolio of products and keeps innovating new technologies in each one of them.

Samsung Electronics is followed by Canon, Honda, Toyota, and Seiko Epson. According to Clarivate, 18 companies retained the Top 100 Global Innovator status:  Samsung Electronics, Honda, Toyota, GE, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Sony, Hitachi, Toshiba, Ericsson, Qualcomm, Dow, Fujitsu, Boeing, Shin-Etsu Chemical, Honeywell, NEC, and Roche. Three companies re-entered the list: Tencent, Daikin Industries, and Zeiss. Whereas, two new companies gained the Top 100 status: Coretronic and Disco.

Clarivate says that country-wise, Japan is the biggest contributor to the list, with 38 organizations in the list coming from the region. The US, Taiwan, South Korea, and Mainland China rank second, third, fourth, and fifth respectively, with 17, 11, 8, and 5 companies from those countries. Continent-wise, Asia is the biggest contributor to the list, accounting for 62 organizations on the list. Europe is next on the list, with 21 companies from the region making their way to the list.
