Ahead of the CES 2025 expo next month, Samsung is slowly revealing its home appliances lineup for next year. Yesterday, the company showcased its AI Home series of appliances featuring large touchscreen displays. Today, the company unveiled its refrigerator lineup for 2025, featuring AI Hybrid Cooling.

Samsung's new refrigerators for 2025 feature AI Hybrid Cooling

Today, Samsung announced and unveiled its new refrigerator with AI Hybrid Cooling. These refrigerators will be released in global markets sometime next year. They use a combination of AI algorithms with some innovative cooling methods to keep things cool while saving energy.

The new refrigerators feature a highly efficient compressor with a Peltier module. The module uses a semiconductor device that achieves cooling by using temperature changes arising from the flow of electric current. You can think of it as a hybrid car system that uses two power sources simultaneously only when it is necessary.

For example, when it is summer or when you place several items in a refrigerator, the device simultaneously activates the compressor and Peltier module. During regular operation, it only uses the compressor.

The refrigerator uses AI algorithms that detect the current status of the refrigerator and predict temperature changes to adjust the cooling mode properly.

The AI Inverter Compressor used in Samsung's new refrigerators uses a new design with an increased radius of rotating components. It has 4.1x more inertia compared to Samsung's F3 (conventional) compressor.

The new cooling mechanism also takes up less space compared to earlier. For a 900-litre refrigerator, it brings a 25-liter increase in available storage capacity through 60mm deeper shelves and a 13.8% larger loading area.

Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of the R&D Team at Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances Business, said, “Since refrigerators run 24/7, we placed a strong emphasis on developing a cooling system that meaningfully enhances energy efficiency for users.
