Samsung has released a new mobile app exclusive to Galaxy smartphones. The company says it developed the app in partnership with ONE Esports, showing “Samsung's commitment and enthusiastic support of the gaming community.” As you may have guessed, the app targets esports fans.
A couple of months ago, Samsung and ONE Esports partnered to conduct a study, determining that 7 in 10 online users in Southeast Asia and Oceania are gamers.
Now, the two entities have come together again to develop the ONE Esports mobile app, which they've released in Southeast Asia. The app offers syndicated and aggregated exclusive early-access esports content and has customizable in-app push notification settings.
One Esports will come pre-loaded on select Galaxy phones
Interestingly, Samsung says that from now on, the ONE Esports mobile app will be pre-loaded on select Galaxy A and Galaxy M smartphones sold in Southeast Asia. The few models Samsung mentioned were the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34, neither of which are truly powerful gaming devices.
It doesn't take a powerhouse to follow esports content. And, of course, the app will be pre-loaded on these devices, but it is also distributed through the Play Store and compatible with other Galaxy phones.
Samsung is launching the ONE Esports app in Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. And to make things more fun and accessible for esports fans, the ONE Esports content will be localized and available in various languages, including English, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.
