About two weeks ago, many people started reporting on multiple platforms, including Samsung’s Community forum, that their Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6 series models began restarting out of the blue anywhere from two to five times a day. The one thing that was common in all those cases was that they were all using Samsung’s Digital Neon watch face, and therefore, it was assumed that the watch face was causing the problem.
As it turns out, the Digital Neon watch face was indeed the culprit. More importantly, Samsung has provided a fix for the problem. In a new post on Samsung’s Community forum for Korea, the South Korean tech giant has acknowledged that the Digital Neon watch face has been causing Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6 series models to restart every now and then.

In the same post, the company also announced that it has started releasing an update to the Digital Neon watch face which should fix the issue. In other words, after installing the latest update for the Digital Neon watch face, your Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 6 series model will not restart as it doing now, even when you are using the same watch face.
To update the Digital Neon watch face, open the Galaxy Wearable application on your smartphone, go to ‘Watch faces,’ select the Digital Neon watch face, and there you should be able to see an update button. Tap that button and the watch will download the latest version of the watch face. Once that happens, set Digital Neon as the default watch face, and you should not be able to notice any issues with the wearable.
