Samsung fans have been patiently waiting for the Galaxy Ring, the company's first smart ring, that was first unveiled back in January this year. Samsung has talked about it a few times since then, also showed it in a controlled environment at MWC 2024, but the company is yet to provide any specifics on its arrival.
Confirmation of when the Galaxy Ring will go on sale in the United States, and in other markets across the globe, has come from a rather unusual place, where Samsung has mentioned the expected timeframe for the device's release.
Galaxy Ring release is scheduled for August 2024
Samsung recently filed a lawsuit against Oura, pre-empting any legal challenge from the smart ring manufacturer over alleged patent infringement by the Galaxy Ring. The company mentioned in its lawsuit that mass production of the Galaxy Ring will begin by mid-June, 2024.
It further mentioned that “Samsung will be selling the Galaxy Ring in the United States in or around August of this year.” The timeline makes sense, as Samsung is slated to officially launch the Galaxy Ring at its July 10, 2024 Unpacked event in Paris, France. This suggests that the pre-order period might be up to four weeks, before customers ultimately get the Galaxy Ring on their finger.
Pricing for the Galaxy Ring hasn't been confirmed at this point in time, but reports suggest that it may cost between $300 and $350 in the United States. Samsung has also developed a clever way to help users figure out the correct ring size before they order the device, making the process much easier for those who may be buying a smart ring for the very first time.
