Yesterday, we reported that Samsung had increased the price of the Galaxy M47 in India by up to INR 8,000 — a significant hike considering that the phone went on sale in the country just fifteen days ago. Now, the brand appears to have partially rolled back the increase, restoring the phone's pricing to what it was at launch.
On Amazon India, the Galaxy M47 is once again listed at INR 25,999, INR 28,999, and INR 33,999 for the 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB variants, respectively (via Debayan Roy). However, Samsung's website and the Samsung Shop app continue to show the increased prices. Hopefully, the brand will rectify it.
Samsung has not explained why it increased the price of the Galaxy M47 or why it appears to have partially rolled back the hike. The company may have raised the price due to soaring memory chip costs, but decided to reverse the move after receiving negative feedback. It's also possible that the initial price hike was simply an error.
Either way, this is good news if you were planning to buy the Galaxy M47 but were put off by the higher price. At least on Amazon India, you can now purchase the phone at its launch price. Those who bought it after yesterday's price hike, however, may not be as pleased.
