Starting today, Samsung has made the Galaxy Z Flip 6 available to purchase in many countries around the globe, including the United States and India. However, people who had pre-ordered the phone started getting it delivered almost ten days ago. With that, teardown videos of the phone hit the internet even before it went on sale. Now, Samsung itself is giving you a look at the inside of the Galaxy Z Flip 6.Summarize in one-click with Galaxy AI

Samsung has issued a press release that shows us all the major internal components of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and tells us what they do and the improvements they offer over the parts in older models. The company has released two images to give us a look at the inside of the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The first image shows the internal components from the front to the rear of the device and the other shows from the rear to the front.

What does the Galaxy Z Flip 6 pack?

As you can see, there are ten major components in the Galaxy Z Flip 6:

  1. Display
  2. Hinge
  3. Hinge cover
  4. Case
  5. Vapor chamber
  6. Main battery
  7. Sub battery
  8. Main printed board assembly (PBA). It has a processor, RAM, storage, and front and rear cameras among other things.
  9. Sub printed board assembly (PBA). It has a microphone and a USB Type-C port among other things
  10. Back cover

Brighter and stronger display

According to Samsung, the display of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 features high-efficiency organic materials and a new coating technique that lowers the reflectivity on the screen’s surface and improves the peak brightness from 1,750 nits on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 to 2,600 nits on this model.

The panel has a 60% thicker Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) compared to that of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, making it more resilient. On top of that, there’s a more flexible protective layer. All of these things make the crease along the foldable area much less pronounced or much less visible to our eyes.

Hinge

The hinge module in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the component that allows you to completely fold and unfold the device and keep the display unfolded at various angles between 75 degrees and 115 degrees, letting you watch a video or take a photo or video without using a phone stand or tripod.

This hinge has a symmetrical dual-rail structure with four drive shafts that fold the display “into the shape of a water droplet and keep the two screens together for a seamless fit” and evenly distribute external shocks to protect the device from damage caused by accidental drops.

Hinge cover and case use stronger aluminum

The cutting-edge hinge module is covered by the hinge cover. That and the frame are made out of Enhanced Armor Aluminum, which is more resistant to scratches and damage compared to the material used in the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is available in multiple eye-catching colors and Samsung says that it gives the device those finishes using an optimized anodizing coating process.

First Galaxy Z Flip device to use vapor chamber

As we already reported, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the first device in the Galaxy Z Flip lineup to feature a vapor chamber. The vapor chamber diffuses heat in a much better way compared to the heat dissipation solution in the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

That prevents the mighty Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 from overheating and thermal-throttling.

Larger and more energy-dense batteries

According to Samsung, the main and the sub batteries in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are more energy-dense compared to those in the Galaxy Z Flip 5. With that and larger battery size, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 offers a 4,000mAh capacity, which is 300mAh more compared to what the Galaxy Z Flip 5 offers.

Main PBA and sub PBA

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has two printed board assemblies (PBAs), the main PBA and the sub PBA. The former packs many major components, including processor, RAM, storage, and front and rear camera modules.

Whereas, the latter “supports various radio frequency bands” and houses a “low-noise Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) microphone that facilitates accurate speech recognition” and a USB Type-C port.

Back cover uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2

The Galaxy Z Flip 6’s back cover is made out of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, one of the two toughest glasses that Corning makes for smartphones, with the other being the Gorilla Glass Armor on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

As you can see, Samsung has used very high-quality and very advanced components in the Galaxy Z Flip 6. It has also packed all of those components in a very clever way that takes up the least amount of space.

With all that, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 offers an amazing user experience, as you can see in our video above. If you are looking for a clamshell foldable smartphone, you can’t get an overall better device than the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Click on the link below to grab the best deal on the device.
