After showing off the Smart Monitor M8 at CES 2022, Samsung has finally started accepting pre-orders for the new monitor globally. The Smart Monitor M8 has a starting price of $700 in the US. Sadly, one of the anticipated features, the Samsung Game Hub, is missing from this monitor. Besides, Samsung has also not shared information on when it will start shipping the device.
The Samsung Monitor M8 has a 32-inch 4K QLED display, surrounded by a slim frame and a borderless design. The monitor has a peaks brightness of 400 nits and HDR10+ content playback. It has a 4ms response time, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 60Hz refresh rate. The Samsung Smart Monitor M8 is pretty slim and measures just 11.4mm.
It will be available in Warm White, Sunset Pink, Daylight Blue, and Spring Green colors.
Samsung Game Hub puts multiple cloud gaming services, including GeForce Now, Google Stadia, and Utomik, into a single library. Samsung has also made it clear that the game hub feature won't be available at the launch of the Smart Monitor M8.
The Smart Monitor M8 comes with a detachable camera that snaps magnetically on top
You can use this Monitor M8 as your smart TV as well. It runs Tizen OS and comes preloaded with several audio and video streaming apps, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, and Apple TV. It also features Wireless Samsung DeX, Apple AirPlay 2, Microsoft 365, or even mirror their smartphone screens. It also features Samsung's SmartThings Hub to allow you to control various IoT devices.
There are multiple ports on the Smart Monitor M8: one micro-HDMI, two USB Type-C ports (1x uplink and 1x downlink), and one of them support 65W fast charging to charge a compatible laptop. It also comes with a remote controller that can charge via its USB Type-C port.
Samsung has also included a magnetic and removable SlimFit Full HD camera, which snaps onto the top bezel of the monitor. The monitor features a 2.2-channel stereo speaker system with two 5W speakers and two tweeters.
Pre-orders for the Smart Monitor M8 are now open through Samsung's website. Customers who pre-order until April 7 will receive a $100 Samsung eCertificate.
