A firmware file for the Galaxy S23 featuring One UI 9.0 has been spotted on Samsung’s server for the first time. It suggests that Samsung has started working on offering its latest Android customisation to its flagship non-foldable smartphones from 2023. The firmware carries version S911BXXUAGZF9 (via Fahad Ali Javed).
Samsung unveiled One UI 9.0 last month and released its beta version, but only for the Galaxy S26. Since then, the brand seems to have started developing the new software for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, and now, the Galaxy S23. Soon, the company could start testing it for other devices, including the Galaxy Z series.
One UI 9.0 is based on Android 17, as opposed to Android 16 QPR2 that One UI 8.5 uses. While it doesn’t offer major visual improvements, it does bring more customisations for the user interface, as well as many new features.
Samsung is expected to debut the stable version of One UI 9.0 next month with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Soon after that, the brand should start rolling it out to all the eligible devices.
