This month brings bad news for owners of several old Galaxy smartphones. The Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra, the first of Samsung's game-changing flagships, will stop getting software updates going forward.
Software updates are also ending for two other game-changing Galaxy smartphones, the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72. These were among the first mid-rangers that brought a taste of flagship features, like high refresh rate displays, stereo speakers, 5G connectivity, and faster charging to a cheaper price point.
As far as the Galaxy A52 5G is concerned, Samsung has ended support for the enterprise edition. The regular edition already stopped getting updates a while back along with the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52s. The Galaxy A52 and A52s enterprise editions will still get updates.
In addition to the Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, A52 5G, and A72, Samsung will stop releasing updates for the Galaxy A32. Support is ending for the S20 series after five years and after four years for the mid-range devices.
Samsung may release an update that was already in the works for these devices before support ended, but if you own one of them, it is time to upgrade if you want to keep getting software updates.
