Samsung is pretty big on sustainability these days. It has made it easier for customers to repair their own devices. The company is also going to offer certified recycled parts to cut down the cost of repairs for customers.
Ahead of World Earth Day, the company has announced a new collaboration with Sean Wotherspoon, an American designer and artist. It has created a range of sustainability made cases and watch bands for its products.
Samsung celebrates Earth Day with sustainable accessories
These Galaxy S21 cases and Galaxy Watch 4 bands have been made using recyclable and biodegradable materials. It's a great initiative since the vast majority of these accessories are made using plastic that's not biodegradable and is often not even recyclable.
The cases and watch bands from the Samsung Galaxy x Sean Wotherspoon Sustainable Accessories Collection come with matching watch faces that will be available as a free download from Google Play.
The color combinations on offer for these 100% biodegradable and recyclable accessories include pink, yellow and green. They're adorned with peace signs, images of flowers, sun and the planet earth in addition to slogans that tell us to “love the planet.”
This collection of sustainable cases and watch bands will be available starting tomorrow at 10 am ET on Samsung.com. All products will go on sale for $49.99. A limited run of the collection will also be available starting 1 pm ET tomorrow through the NTWRK app.
