Samsung's The Frame is a unique TV that has almost no competition. Thanks to its matte screen and overall design, it looks more like a physical painting than a conventional TV, which means you can use it as an artwork showcase in your living room. The Frame TV has the Art Store where you can subscribe or buy artwork. Samsung adds more artwork each year to its Art Store and has done it again this week.
The Frame TV's Art Store gets artwork collection from Marimekko
The South Korean firm partnered with Finnish design house Marimekko to bring limited-edition artwork to the Art Store on The Frame TV. Marimekko will add 40 pieces of artwork to the Samsung Art Store, which includes 30 timeless Marimekko prints. There are three rotating collections of 12 prints, which change based on the seasons. These prints will be from a portfolio of art created by the following artists:
- Fujiwo Ishimoto: Award-winning Japanese designer who has worked with Marimekko since the 1970s.
- Katsuji Wakisaka: Japanese designer known for bold colors and organic shapes.
- Maija Isola: Designer of the famous Unikko flower pattern. They have created over 500 other artworks for Marimekko.
- Maija Louekari: Famous for combining narrative line drawings with striking colors.
- Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi: Finnish designer famous for functional and timeless designs.
You can get this new artwork collection on your The Frame TV by subscribing to the Art Store, which has over 2,300 pieces of art. Sanna-Kaisa Niikko, Chief Marketing Officer at Marimekko, said, “Marimekko has always appreciated the beauty and joy of everyday life. We are excited to bring our bold patterns as everyday art to new audiences. In this collaboration with Samsung, we are particularly happy to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Unikko.”
