Samsung has announced that it has managed to sell over a million units of The Frame TV worldwide in 2021. This is the first time its lifestyle TV sales crossed the million mark within a year. Since The Frame TV's launch in 2017, the South Korean firm has sold nearly two million units. The company said that there's massive demand from Europe and North America for its lifestyle TVs.
Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for big-screen and premium TVs has risen. Keeping that in mind, Samsung launched more screen size options for its lifestyle TVs, including The Frame. The TV is available in five sizes: 32-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch. In 2020, the South Korean firm introduced the QLED display technology to The Frame, and in 2021, it added the 4K 120Hz feature.
Samsung also allows users to change the look of the TV to match users' home decor. Users can choose between a flat-style bezel (brown, teak, or white) and a beveled chamfer-style bezel (white or brick red). They can also wall-mount it or set it up on an art gallery-style studio stand. Samsung has also partnered with major art stores, artists, and museums worldwide to offer pieces of art via the Art Store.
Simon Sung, Executive Vice President and Head of the Sales & Marketing Team of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “The Frame is not just a device for watching TV, but a lifestyle product which enhances a space with its design and enriches consumers' lives with an extensive art collection. We continue to look for ways to strengthen The Frame's offerings to find innovative ways to satisfy consumers' evolving needs and desires. We are also always exploring partnerships with new museums, galleries, and artists to offer a much wider range of collections in the Art Store.”
