Samsung launched an AI Subscription Club in South Korea back in 2024. Contrary to what you might think, it's not a paid tier for Galaxy AI. The service allows people in South Korea to rent AI-equipped Samsung appliances and products for a monthly fee.
The service has been quite successful in Samsung's home country, which is why the company has now said that it's going to offer more personalized options.
Through the AI Subscription Club, which was updated in September last year with more benefits and flexible payment plans, users can rent AI-enabled devices such as Samsung air conditioners, dryers, refrigerators, TVs, washing machines, and more.
In the two years since it was launched, the service has generated nearly $734 million in total sales. This excludes Samsung's mobile products, which aren't available through this service.
Im Sung-taek, the executive vice president who leads the Korea sales team, told reporters that the company is now going to expand the service by providing users with more personalized options that are tailored to their personal requirements, budgets, and life stages.
Further details will come in due course, but it's a good step to enhance the commercial viability of this service, which has proven to be a solid revenue source for the company.
