Samsung Smart TV owners in France now have access to four additional channels for free through the Samsung TV Plus platform. The new channels delivered by Rakuten TV are focused on diversifying the viewer's cinema experience with comedies, action movies, dramas, and a new Spotlight channel showcasing weekly popular content and exclusive film selections.
Samsung TV Plus has hundreds of thousands of viewers in France
Samsung's free-of-charge TV Plus platform was released in France in November 2019. According to the company, it has become one of the most popular OTT (over-the-top) services in the country among hundreds of thousands of Samsung Smart TV owners. Including the four new stations, the service now offers a total of 26 channels.
Samsung TV Plus is available on every Smart TV model made by the company since 2016. The service is free; it doesn't require any additional downloads, credit card information, or external devices to work on eligible devices.
Other popular channels available on Samsung TV Plus in France include Euronews, L'atelier des Chefs, Luxe.tv, Motorsport.tv, and many others. As access to content grows, the best televisions will be defined by their ability to offer an experience more in line with the taste of viewers. Samsung TVs are at the forefront of this change, said Guillaume Rault, Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung France.
Samsung Smart TV owners have also had access to shows like Star Wars since April 7. Not via the TV Plus platform but through The Walt Disney Company's new subscription-based streaming service Disney Plus.
