Samsung TV Plus to live broadcast women’s golf tournament in South Korea

Samsung is swiftly expanding the content available on Samsung TV Plus, its in-house free video streaming platform. Recently, it started streaming the entire first season of the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power TV show from Amazon Prime Video. Now, the company has announced it will broadcast a golf tournament live in South Korea.

Samsung has become the first free and ad-supported TV (FAST) brand to live-broadcast a sporting event.

Samsung TV Plus to get live broadcast of Hanwha Classic 2024 professional golf tournament

Earlier today, Samsung announced it will broadcast the Hanwha Classic 2024 tournament live on Samsung TV Plus in South Korea. The Hanwha Classic 2024 is a professional golf tournament for women that is part of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) tour. It will be held at the Jade Palace Golf Club in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do, South Korea, from August 22 to August 25.

You can watch the Hanwha Classic 2024 event on the KLPGA Live Channel on channel 822 on Samsung TV Plus. From August 19 to August 22, Samsung TV Plus will showcase rebroadcasts and highlight videos of the DB Group Korea Women's Open, which was held in June 2024. Samsung has been adding more sports content and channels to Samsung TV Plus each year. Golfing fans can watch other golf channels on the platform, including JTBC Golf, PGA Tour, and TV Chosun Golf King. In addition to golf, Samsung TV Plus features channels like the American Hockey League (AHL), FIFA+, Formula 1, Let's Eat Dinner Together, ONEChampionship (MMA), Pink Dream 175, and Strongest Baseball.

Samsung Electronics Visual Display Business Division Vice President Yonghoon Choi said, “We are the first domestic FAST platform to present live sports broadcasts through Samsung TV Plus. We plan to continue to provide more sports fans, including golf, with games and entertainment they can enjoy together.
