Over the past 12 months, Samsung TV Plus has experienced 100% growth in consumer viewing, resulting in nearly 3 billion hours of streamed content worldwide. Samsung's FAST (free ad-supported TV) platform has grown into a giant ever since it got introduced in 2015, and today, Samsung announced that it's ready for a rebranding.
Starting today, Samsung TV Plus has a revamped brand identity complete with a new logo and animations. The rebrand led by UK-based brand agency Dixon Baxi is supposed to express the cross-experience platform enabled by Samsung's FAST service. Samsung TV Plus is available on Samsung smart TVs released in 2015 or later, as well as on Galaxy tablets and smartphones. And soon, the platform will be coming to Family Hub refrigerators in select markets.
As of now, Samsung TV Plus offers 220 channels in the United States and more than 1,600 channels worldwide, including 50 owned & operated channels across sports, news, and entertainment.
More premium content is coming to Samsung TV Plus
To celebrate the rebranding, Samsung also announced a host of new programming partnerships and features coming to TV Plus, including more news offerings and an expanded VOD library. The platform is also getting new exclusive premiers, including an exclusive 2-minute sneak peek of The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power.
More Premium content, including BBC's Top Gear, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, Chicago Fire, NCIS, and more, is coming to Samsung TV Plus. And the VOD library is expanding, with Samsung planning to double it in 2023 in partnership with Vice Media, Lionsgate, and others.
“Samsung TV Plus has become a top viewing destination for consumers around the globe,” said the President and Head of the Service Business Team at Samsung Electronics, adding that “Samsung TV Plus' new brand signifies our continued investment into the future of FAST.”
The rebranded Samsung TV Plus identity is rolling out across the web, mobile devices, and compatible Smart TVs starting today.
