A few days ago, Samsung started offering the August 2026 security patch to Galaxy smartphones. However, the brand is rolling it out very slowly. While many new and high-end devices are awaiting the update, the company has released the latest security patch for the Galaxy M55.

The tech giant seems to be rolling out the update in all the countries where the phone is available for purchase, including Bangladesh and India. It carries firmware version M556BXXS5DZH1. The latest security patch fixes 56 security issues, making the phone more secure.

You can get the latest update for your Galaxy M55 by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates. The phone is currently running on One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) and is eligible to get Samsung’s next custom Android interface, One UI 9.0. Based on Android 17, it offers a plethora of upgrades.

Samsung launched the Galaxy M55 with One UI 6.1 and promised to offer it four major Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. So far, the tech giant has released three major upgrades, which means that One UI 9.0 may be its last major update. The phone will, however, get security updates till 2029.
