The default monitor choice for Apple iMac and MacBook users might be the Apple Studio Display. Nevertheless, Samsung released a new pro-grade monitor earlier this year, and as it happens, it is one of the best alternatives to Apple's solution. It's not a cheap monitor by any means, but it undercuts Apple's Studio Display. And now, it's available at a lower price.
Samsung has launched a new limited-time offer for its 27-inch ViewFinity S9 5K IPS monitor. The display got a 25% price cut, allowing buyers to shave a significant $400 off the $1,599 retail price.
Thanks to this limited-time deal, Samsung customers can now buy the ViewFinity S9 monitor for $1,199 outright or through four bi-weekly payments of $300 each.

The 27-inch ViewFinity S9 has a Matte Display, which makes it an even more budget-conscious alternative to the Apple Studio Display. Apple charges a few hundred dollars extra for its matte finish.
In addition, the ViewFinity S9 also comes with a SlimFit Camera that can be attached to the top of the monitor, providing a clever solution for a notchless design.
Much more than a monitor
Samsung is leading the “smart monitor” market and is making customers think differently about the meaning of a desktop monitor. The ViewFinity S9 is much more than that. It runs Tizen and has built-in smart TV capabilities. It even ships with a remote.
Thanks to this hybrid approach, the ViewFinity S9 offers access to services like Samsung TV Plus and Gaming Hub, which allow users to enjoy content, from TV shows to video games from the cloud, without connecting the monitor to a PC or a gaming console.
Spec-wise, the ViewFinity S9 has a 218ppi 5K panel with 99% DCI-P3 color accuracy. The display can reach a brightness level of 600 nits (typical) and supports HDR.
