Samsung Wallet has Paytm Wallet and UPI integration in India. Now, Samsung has announced that the Samsung Wallet app will lose Paytm Wallet integration for Indian users, and this could be a significant change for some people who frequently use Paytm Wallet on their Samsung phones.
Samsung Wallet to lose Paytm Wallet integration in February 2024 end
Galaxy smartphones with Samsung Wallet will no longer feature Paytm Wallet integration, according to a notice sent by Samsung. The notice indicates that Samsung Wallet will lose Paytm Wallet integration starting the 29th of February 2024. Users who need support can reach Paytm Wallet's customer care number. This is due to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) ban on Paytm Bank's non-compliance and supervisory concerns for a very long period.
It would be better if Samsung Wallet users used or withdrew all the money stored in their Paytm Bank account/wallet. Samsung Wallet integrates credit/debit cards, online wallets (like Paytm), and UPI for mobile payments. Users can also store their Digital IDs (like Aadhar cards, Driver's licenses, and PAN card via DigiLocker integration), vaccination certificates, travel tickets (flight and train), membership cards, Digital Keys, and login credentials.
Samsung launched Samsung Pay in India in 2017. The company then launched Samsung Pass, an app to store login passwords for apps and websites. Last year, Samsung integrated Samsung Pass and Samsung Pay into one app called Samsung Wallet.
