Samsung has officially unveiled the world's first HDR10+ GAMING title, ‘The First Descendent', which it has developed in partnership with NEXON. The game is all set to be unveiled at Gamescom 2023, and ‘The First Descendent' will be the first gaming title to feature the HDR10+ GAMING standard created by HDR10+ Technologies LLC.

With HDR10+ GAMING, gamers will have an ultimate gaming experience thanks to deeper contrast, rich colors, and balanced brightness. Moreover, thanks to HDR10+, gamers will see accurate depictions of details in dark shadows and in brightly highlighted areas. Other benefits of HDR10+ gaming standards include near-instant responses, low latency, variable refresh rate support, and more.

Samsung co-established HDR10+ Technologies LLC in 2018 and kept it royalty-free. It is a free alternative to Dolby Vision. Thanks to that, the HDR10+ ecosystem has grown to 155 partners and over 7,000 certified devices. Hyun Kim, Executive Vice President and Deputy Head of Business Development at NEXON, said, “By adopting HDR10+ GAMING, we are bringing the game to life in a way that was previously not possible. This partnership with Samsung is also raising the bar in HDR gaming, and we are excited to usher in this new standard of picture quality in video games.”

The first open beta test of ‘The First Descendent' game will start on September 19. Gamers across the globe will be able to hop onto the open-beta test and experience gaming like never before. Do note that gamers from China won't be able to join the open beta test for The First Descendant.
