Samsung has announced that it was the world's biggest TV brand last year. It proved to be substantially bigger than its rival firms LG and Sony. The company has been ranked no. 1 TV brand in the world for 15 consecutive years. According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung had a 31.8% share of the global TV market in terms of revenue in Q4 2020.
The South Korean firm is the number one TV brand in most countries worldwide, including the US. Sales of its QLED TVs have been growing with each new quarter, and Samsung is the number one brand in the 75-inch or higher TV segment. The company recently unveiled Mini-LED-based Neo QLED TVs that offer higher brightness, deeper blacks, more contrast ratio, and better local dimming compared to QLED TVs.
Apart from industry-leading audio and video quality, Samsung's Tizen OS-powered smart TVs also offer various other features such as Alexa, Bixby, Google Assistant, AirPlay 2, Tap View, Samsung Health, Samsung TV+, Object Sound Tracking+, Active Voice Amplifier, and Q-Symphony. Of late, the company has been focusing on the high-end TV segment by launching various lifestyle TVs such as The Frame, The Serif, The Sero, and The Terrace.
Jong-hee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “Consumers use screens every day to entertain, connect with loved ones, work, exercise from home and do much more. And we have seen how different lifestyles and routines have not only evolved, but converged. We continue to be incredibly humbled by the trust placed in our vision and products; it is what drives our relentless pursuit to deliver cutting-edge innovation and a best-in-class screen experience that meets the needs of the modern-day consumer.”
