Samsung has announced that its 2020 smart TV lineup offers an unmatched collection of audio and video streaming apps in the UK. The company claims that the app library on its new TVs is the most competitive in the market. The latest upgrade is now live across Samsung's complete lineup of Full HD, 4K, and 8K smart TVs.
The company said that users in the UK would now have access to over 50 apps from the likes of Apple TV, BBC iPlayer, BT Sport, Disney+, ITV Hub, Netflix, NOW TV, Prime Video, Rakuten TV, and YouTube. The app collection on Samsung's 2020 TVs includes Apple Music, BBC Sounds, and Spotify. Apart from these apps, the company's new TVs also feature the Samsung Health app that offers more than 5,000 hours of fitness and wellness related content.
Samsung's own free video streaming app, Samsung TV Plus, is also available in the UK. It's a free linear TV service that requires no subscription or registration. It comes pre-installed on all Samsung smart TVs in the UK. It has over 49 channels that offer content such as documentaries, entertainment, lifestyle, movies, music videos, news, sports, and TV shows.
Guy Kinnell, Vice President of TV and AV at Samsung Electronics UK Ltd, said, “This is a proud moment for us at Samsung. Not only do our 2020 TVs guarantee access to the UK's leading app platforms, an offer that is currently unique to Samsung, but we're pleased to also be in a position to offer this upgrade across our full range.”
