More than a year after announcing its plans for smart glasses, Samsung might finally be ready to bring them to market. However, the availability of the Android XR-powered Intelligent Eyewear will be limited this year.

Samsung Intelligent Eyewear launch timeline

A report from South Korea claims that Samsung has confirmed it will launch its first AI smart glasses, officially named Intelligent Eyewear, in mid-December 2026. The release will initially be limited to South Korea and the US. In other markets, such as China, Europe, and Japan, the glasses will arrive in 2027.

The final retail pricing for Samsung's smart glasses is still under negotiation and has not been set. The glasses will be available in several colors, shapes, and styles from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

The Intelligent Eyewear features the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 processor, a 12MP front-facing camera, stereo speakers, and multiple microphones. The device runs Android XR and has deep integration with Gemini. It can last up to 9 hours on a single charge, with additional charges provided by the carrying case.
