ETM, a local German product evaluation media outlet, has praised Samsung's SmartThings Energy for its performance, functionality, and usability. ETM gave SmartThings Energy a total score of 96.1 out of 100 ahead of the IFA 2023 that was held in Berlin, Germany. SmartThings Energy was praised for not only making life easy to save energy but also showing no degradation in washing, drying, and cleaning.

Special attention was paid to SmartThings Energy's ‘AI Saving Mode,' which offers additional energy savings without much effort. ETM gave a ‘Very Good' rating to Samsung's SmartThings Energy also because of its performance. According to ETM's own test results, when the washing machine model name (WW11BB945AGMS2) uses AI saving mode, the machine uses 80.2% energy, saving around 179.4 kWh/year. This result was the output for using the washing machine five times a week.

AI Saving Mode will increase the usage time without decreasing the performance of the appliance

When the electricity savings are converted into costs, users can save EUR 75.35/year (around KRW 100,000). Although the AI Saving Mode increases the washing time, it maintains excellent washing power. Moreover, thanks to the ‘EcoBubble' technology, cold water can penetrate between fabrics to clean stains.

In the case of the dryer, although the drying time is increased by five minutes in the AI Saving Mode, there is a 32.3% energy savings without decreased drying performance. Overall, based on ETM's report, household appliances, including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, smart monitors, and TVs, can help a user save EUR 163.8 or more than KRW 230,000 in electricity bills.

Samsung grabbed eyeballs at IFA 2023, where it built an eco-friendly house with a single-person household concept. All the appliances were connected to SmartThings Energy, which explained how it can help reduce energy costs.
