Last week, Samsung released the Android 12 update to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G, but the 4G variants of the phone were left out. Now, the South Korean firm is fixing the situation and releasing the update to the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S20 FE 4G. The update is rolling out in Malaysia, and more markets will get the update over the next few days.
The Android 12 update for the Snapdragon 865 variant of the Galaxy S20 FE 4G (SM-G780G) comes with firmware version G780GXXU3BUL9. The update also includes the December 2021 security patch. The South Korean firm could release the update in more countries in the next few days.
If you are a Galaxy S20 FE 4G (SM-G780G) user in Malaysia, you can check for the Android 12 update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
Galaxy S20 FE Android 12 (One UI 4.0) features
The One UI 4.0 update, which is based on Android 12, brings a new UI design, featuring bigger sliders, the Color Palette feature, better icons, and new widget styles. There are more lock screen widgets, AoD options, and improved stock apps. Samsung has also improved the privacy and security aspects of the phone. Bixby and Bixby Routines have received new features as well.
Samsung has also redesigned the Device Care section. More accessibility features have been added to the smartphone. Device performance and stability have been improved as well.
