As you know by now, the Galaxy S22 received the highly anticipated One UI 5.0 update at the beginning of the week. Following the rollout in multiple countries, a few reports have popped up on Samsung's Community forums in Korea, describing a Bluetooth connectivity issue that may or may not affect the Galaxy S22 running One UI 5.0 in other regions.
From the information we've gathered from the Community forums, the issue prevents Galaxy Watch 4 users from connecting the smartwatch to the Galaxy S22 running One UI 5.0. Furthermore, this bug might affect only the base Galaxy S22 model — not the Galaxy S22+ or Galaxy S22 Ultra. The issue may also be limited to the Qualcomm variant and might only affect users in South Korea.
We will update you as soon as we find out more. Speaking of which, in case you are using the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22+, or the Galaxy S22 Ultra with One UI 5.0 (Snapdragon or Exynos), feel free to let us know in the comment section if you've encountered any Bluetooth connectivity issues when attempting to pair your Galaxy smartwatch. From our experience, earbuds such as the Buds Pro seem to be working fine on the Exynos-powered Galaxy S22 series updated to Android 13 and One UI 5.0.
The bug appears to be limited by several criteria and doesn't seem to be widespread, but we'll keep you up to speed if more information surfaces. A Samsung Community forum moderator said that the company is investigating the issue, so if you are experiencing these problems, a quick fix might be rolled out soon.
