It seems Samsung's kicking the rollout of the public Android 13 and One UI 5.0 update for its devices into overdrive this week. Samsung released the stable One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series earlier today, and now, it has also started rolling it out to the Galaxy S20 series!
It's unclear right now if the update is available over the air, but our firmware archives do have the Android 13 firmware for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra, so it's clear Samsung has officially released the update. In fact, we see even the Galaxy Note 20 series is getting the update, which makes it three different lineups of phones that Samsung has updated on the same day!
The wait for the One UI 5.0 goodness is finally over for some Galaxy S20 users
As of this writing, it seems that the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update is available for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra in Germany and Switzerland. However, you can be sure that more markets will follow soon.
The One UI 5.0 update for the 4G-enabled Galaxy S20 and S20+ carries firmware version G98xFXXUFGVJE. Galaxy S20 Ultra users in Europe can identify the update by firmware version G988BXXUFGVJE. The release includes the October 2022 security patch.
Galaxy S20 series users should be able to update the phones to One UI 5.0 upon receiving the notification or by launching the Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”
SamMobile readers can also download the official firmware files from our website, although, once again, they're available only for customers in Switzerland and Germany as of this writing. You can keep an eye on our firmware section for when the firmware reaches more countries. And if you want a more in-depth look at One UI 5.0, check out our videos below.
