Apple unveiled its iPhone 14 series yesterday, and much to the disappointment of many customers, the standard iPhone 14 model doesn't really bring anything new over the iPhone 13. Samsung mocked the company in a couple of ads, and now, even Steve Jobs' daughter has joined in on the fun.

Eve Jobs, the daughter of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, recently posted a meme on her Instagram page highlighting that the iPhone 14 is essentially the same as the iPhone 13. Evidently, she was not impressed by the new 2022 model. (via Gadgets360)

Apple makes a carbon copy of its own smartphone

The iPhone 14 doesn't boast the new animated notification “Island,” and unlike in previous years, when at least some internal components got upgraded by the subsequent model, the new iPhone is much more similar to the 2021 variant. It features the same Apple A15 Bionic chipset (albeit with some tweaks and an extra GPU core), the same camera configuration, display, and exterior design.

In essence, the iPhone 14 is a phone for customers who didn't already have the iPhone 13 and may be looking to upgrade from an earlier model. Otherwise, it's a massively disappointing yearly upgrade and doesn't offer customers much in ways of innovation or excitement.

To be fair, it's not like Samsung's latest Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 have completely revolutionized the emerging foldable smartphone segment. However, they have brought a few significant hardware upgrades, better battery life, and design refinements, among other minor quality-of-life changes and improvements. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 is essentially a carbon copy of the iPhone 13, and the worst part is that it's probably the first of many.

And some people thought Samsung fans are in a bad place…

Super HDR images from Galaxy phones will be compatible with iPhones, Macs

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the capability to capture Super HDR photos using the Galaxy S24 series. Apple AI is now live, doesn’t look like a threat to Samsung Galaxy AI

Samsung was the first OEM to really push the concept of generative AI tools into the mainstream. Today, that should […]
