Samsung's iconic Over the Horizon ringtone was once again reimagined for a new series of flagships. This year, Samsung got in touch with the beloved musical artist SUGA — the producer of K-pop band BTS — who composed the new ringtone in celebration of the latest foldable series.
Samsung announced earlier this week that the new Over the Horizon ringtone/Galaxy theme produced by SUGA is exclusively available for download by Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 owners in the US and Korea from the company's website. However, Samsung also confirmed that SUGA's Over the Horizon will reach more Z3 users around the world in early September, and availability is expanding as we speak.
SUGA's creation will be coming to more phones via firmware update
In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, SUGA's Over the Horizon ringtone will also become available to more smartphone models “through a future software update.” Availability will differ by region and model though, so the new ringtone might not reach every low cost and mid-range Galaxy phone out there.
The company wasn't too clear about the update's potential release date for other phones, but if you're eager to listen to SUGA's reimagined Over the Horizon ringtone, or if you want to see SUGA talk more about the creation process, you can check the two videos below. The BTS producer claims that he always wanted to create an instrumental track, so the whole process of recreating the iconic Samsung ringtone “was incredible.”
