Telegram is one of the more popular messaging apps. It's used by countless people across the globe. The app is available for both major mobile platforms. A new update has been sent out that brings several interesting features.
This latest Telegram update also brings visual changes for Android that were previously only limited to the iOS version of the messaging app.
New features inbound for the Telegram app
The latest version of Telegram gets a Download Manager. The app enables users to send files of any types of up to 2 GB. These files can be accessed from any device with unlimited cloud storage. When files are downloading, a new icon will be shown in the Search bar now.
This icon will take users to the Downloads tab where they can pause and resume all downloads or individual items. A new attachment menu makes it much simpler to send photos or videos. The login flow has also been redesigned for the app with smooth new animations.
Telegram for Android finally gets a semi-transparent interface. This was previously available only on the iOS version. When your Samsung device is in night more, panels and headers will show a subtle transparency effect for chat backgrounds, stickers and media when scrolling.
There are some minor improvements as well, such as the ability to create a direct t.me link to your phone number, the ability to broadcast from streaming tools like OBS Studio and XSplit Broadcaster as well as a new look for t.me pages.
This latest Telegram update is rolling out now and is available for download immediately.
