The Galaxy A5x is one of the most intriguing Samsung phone series. For the past few years, Galaxy A5x phones have sat at the top of the company's mid-range portfolio, and every new release brought something refreshing to the table. Samsung is working on a new version, and today, it graced online benchmarks with its presence.

The Galaxy A56 was spotted performing a handful of test runs in Geekbench today. More precisely, four Galaxy A56 tests were uploaded, and the phone scored a maximum of 1,353 and 3,847 points in single and multi-core tests, respectively.

The upcoming mid-range hero is expected to boast a new Samsung-made SoC called Exynos 1580. The latter was spotted in Geekbench earlier this summer, albeit next to lower scores than what we see above. Back then, the chip topped 1,046 and 3,678 points.

Today's tests directly link the Galaxy A56's SM-A566B model number with the new chip and, needless to say, show a significant performance gain, especially in single-core tests.

Android 15 and other Galaxy A56 specifications

As usual, Geekbench didn't reveal too much about the Galaxy A56 but did confirm that the phone was tested running Android 15.

The latest Samsung phones run Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1 and will hopefully receive Android 15 and One UI 7.0 later this year. But the Galaxy A56 will likely go on sale next year and should run Android 15 out of the box. Samsung is thinking ahead and is already testing the phone using the most recent Android OS version.

The Galaxy A56 — or at least the version tested online — appears to have 8GB of RAM. And according to the benchmarking platform, the unannounced Exynos 1580 chip features three CPU core clusters.

One cluster has four CPU cores clocked at 1.95GHz. Another has three CPU cores @2.60GHz. And the third cluster consists of a single high-performance core clocked at 2.91GHz. The chip will is also likely to boast a new GPU with improved gaming performance.
