Bigger numbers don't automatically make better products. We proved this true when we tested the Galaxy S21 Ultra's charging speeds compared to the Google Pixel 6 Pro. The latter device should've beaten Samsung's flagship, given that it has a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging instead of 25W, but it ultimately failed the practical test.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is a few weeks away, and it might break the 25W fast charging barrier for Samsung, even though it may not be necessary. As you can see in our latest charge speed test video below, the Galaxy S21 Ultra already beats the best phones from Google and Apple, even though, on paper, it shouldn't.

Same as last time, we performed our new test at maximum charging speeds with features such as Adaptive charging and Protect battery disabled. This should give us more accurate results as to how fast these phones can actually gain a full battery charge.

To save you some suspense, the Samsung flagship reached 100% battery charge in 1 hour and 7 minutes. Apple's flagship came in second, but check our video below if you want to see how these phones performed throughout the test at each of our 15-minute checkpoints.
