Meta has updated the Threads by Instagram app for Android with support for themed icons (via 9to5Google). That means the app icon for the Threads app can adapt to the color of your device's theme or wallpaper on your Galaxy smartphone/tablet, enhancing the uniformity of icons throughout One UI. The addition comes as a part of Threads v300.0.0.29.109. It's worth mentioning that Threads has now become the first and the only social media app from Meta to support themed icons.
The themed icons feature was introduced with Android 12 (One UI 5.0 on Samsung devices). These icons adapt to the color of your device's theme or wallpaper. For example, if you choose a red-colored system theme on your device, the themed icons on your phone or tablet will also appear with the same color palette (have the same tint). However, the app should support the themed icons feature for the app icon to adapt to the system theme.
Recently, Meta introduced the web version of Threads, allowing you to log in to the social media platform from your web browser and access the same functionality as you would in the Threads app for Android and iOS. The web version enables people to enjoy the full functionality of Threads on their desktops, such as Galaxy Books or Galaxy Chromebooks, without having to resort to their smartphones and tablets whenever they want to access the Twitter/X rival from Meta.
