If you're waiting for the One UI 7.0 beta update to hit your Galaxy phone, you might have to wait a bit longer. According to a new bit of rumor, the beta program for the upcoming One UI 7.0 update won't be coming soon.
That is, according to a post on X via @UniverseIce, which states that “There are still no plans to launch it [One UI 7.0 beta] in the near future.” The source doesn't specify any dates, so it's unclear if this “near future” corresponds to our previous report from last week.
As you might recall, last week, we received information that One UI 7.0 beta might go live in the third week of August.
One UI 6.1.1 will come first
According to our sources, Samsung may have delayed the One UI 7.0 beta release to focus on rolling out the One UI 6.1.1 update to more devices.
One UI 6.1.1 debuted with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 at Unpacked in July. Even though it is an x.1.1 update, this time, it will likely roll out for older Galaxy foldable phones, Galaxy tablets, and even a few slab-type high-end phones.
The One UI 6.1.1 update should bring new Galaxy AI features to older flagship phones, but One UI 7.0 will be the bigger release, especially if the rumors are correct.
One UI 7.0 will change many UI elements, bring new animations, and perhaps even more extended Galaxy AI capabilities. Regardless of when One UI 7.0 beta goes live, it will do so in limited markets for select devices. If all goes well, the first stable build will roll out before the end of the year. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
